Daffodil Day

Today is Daffodil Day.  Our school is helping to raise money for people with cancer by selling daffodils to the staff and students. We have arranged our daffodils into a C for cancer.

Maths Week

We are having a Maths Week at school.  Today we looked at a maths book with maths problems.  One page was numbers to 20 in different languages.  The languages were Japanese, English, French, Spanish, Indonesia and Lebanese.  We noticed some of the languages were similar with their spelling and pronunciation. Several of the languages have similarities to Maori like tekau ma whitu = ten and seven = dix-sept.
On Wednesday we have the World of Maths show to look forward to.
On Thursday we are going to go to each class and do a different maths activity all day.
On Friday our parents are welcome to come and see how we do maths in our classes.
It will be a fun week for maths.
